چکیده
Abstract Background Some patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) develop pneumothorax. However, the characteristics of pneumothorax in IPF have not been elucidated. The purpose this study was to clarify clinical course, actual management, and treatment outcomes IPF. Methods Consecutive who were admitted for between January 2008 December 2018 included. success rates pneumothorax, hospital mortality, recurrence rate after discharge examined. Results During period, 36 a total 58 times. first admission, 15 (41.7%) did receive chest tube drainage, but 21 (58.3%) did. Of patients, 8 (38.1%) received additional therapy drainage. respective 86.6% 66.7% underwent observation only vs mortality 13.3% 38.0%. 34.6% (n = 9). Conclusions Pneumothorax difficult treat successfully, had relatively poor prognosis, showed high rate.

Insights into idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in the real world.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a relentless fibrotic disorder leading to an irreversible damage of the lungs, chronic respiratory failure, and death after a median of 3 years following the diagnosis [1]. The landscape in IPF has recently been profoundly modified in a number of ways. The disease process, once considered as a chronic inflammation and treated with anti-inflammatory and imm...
متن کاملReal world experiences: pirfenidone is well tolerated in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a debilitating condition with life expectancy of two to five years from diagnosis. Treatment strategies for IPF are disappointingly limited and pirfenidone is currently the only licensed drug that has been shown to reduce the decline in forced vital capacity (FVC) at six months. We demonstrate our experience in prescribing pirfenidone in a single centre ob...
متن کاملPulmonary Rehabilitation in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis: A Chance for a Multidisciplinary Treatment Approach
Background and Objectives: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is characterized by progressively worsening lung function, ventilation capacity, dyspnea, and finally reduced exercise intolerance. All of these have a significant negative impact on functional capacity and quality of life. In this study, we aim to evaluate the effects of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) in IPF and assess the predictor...
متن کاملPulmonary rehabilitation in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis--a review.
Among the various types of interstitial lung diseases, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is the most common disorder and has a poor prognosis and a limited response to pharmacological treatment. In patients with IPF, functional exercise tolerance and quality of life have been shown to be significantly decreased. Current IPF guidelines suggest only a weak recommendation for pulmonary rehabilit...
متن کاملDepression in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Depression carries enormous global morbidity and is 1.5-7 times likelier to occur in individuals with chronic illness than in the general population. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) has a rising incidence with a severe impact on quality of life. An indication of the prevalence of depression in this group is therefore of paramount interest. A prospective study was performed. A total of 118 p...
